We read Psalms.  Happy Psalms, Angry Psalms, Complainy Psalms. We wrote our own very own Happy Psalm. We were all feeling good on a sunny weekend :)

We have lots of fun with the 7-10 year olds on Friday. We make good healthy food, we plant food, we eat together, we do crafts, we chat, we play games, we hang out. It’s good :)

i61Kids, St Pauls Church hall, Craig y don. Fridays. 3:45-5:45. For school years 3, 4 and 5. See you there!

We have come to our 9th week of learning about that kid Joseph, from the Bible. You know? the dreamer with the colourful coat?

Joseph warns Pharaoh that a famine will be over all the land for 7 years. Luckily, before these nasty 7 years, there will be a good 7 years where the crops will do well and there will be more food than anyone needs. Joseph advises the king to store up extra food in that time of plenty and share it among the people when food became scarce.

Today the i61 kids did a similar thing. Armed with our own pound coins, we left the classroom and went shopping. We had fun choosing food and getting to use the self-service checkouts and instead of eating what we bought we are going to give it to the local foodbank to feed people in crisis. Lots of fun for a very good cause!

The bright times and the dark times of a boy named Joe.

We have spent the last 7 or so weeks at i61 kids learning about Joseph. Joseph’s life was made up of very happy times and very sad times, very bright, very dark… Just like our own. These bright and dark times were woven together into one amazing amazing story, a story that touched the lives of a whole nation. Come and learn more with us! Sunday 11 o clock, Cineworld Llandudno Junction - screen 4.

We painted our hands, we made a picture! We hope you had a lovely Easter : )

But here is how God has shown his love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us ~ Romans 5:8

Are you ready? We are…

Happy Mother’s Day from i61 : )

This past Sunday the i61 Kids joined our teens greeting people in the Cineworld foyer, giving out roses to all the ladies.

We hope your Mother’s Day was very special!

"My dear young fellow," the Old-Green-Grasshopper said gently, "there are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that you haven’t started wondering about yet…"

I see that I have neglected this blog for a very long time. That annoys me. I want to write here, anything to do with our children and their spiritual journey,

well, let’s see how that goes…

I was thinking today, about being little and how… everything was bigger. Not just in size, I mean… the possibilities, the sense of adventure, there was so much to explore. What happens as we get older? The real world kicks in, drags us down, we are taught to not expect too much - we’ll be disappointed if we do.

The Kingdom of God that God says belongs to Children, gets squished down by the “Real World”

But disappointment is inevitable right? We should be protecting our children against the disappointment that comes with dreaming big… right?

What do you think?

Church… on Mount Everest?

What is the Church?

We are the church, the people, the children, the old people, the not so old people.

Where is the church?

Wherever we are! What if a few of us decided then to pack some food and some very warm clothes and put on our very finest hiking boots ad decided to take a walk up the mountain?… let’s say we were very fit and experienced at climbing mountains and we decided to climb Mount Everest - people could point at it and say, “Hey, there’s Mount Everest, and look! There’s the Mount Everest Church!

We looked at the early church and some of the things that they did together, according to the Bible they ate together and they prayed together, we praised Jesus together and they enjoyed eachother’s company.

So that is what we did, We ate together (bread and cheese and grapes, yum!) and we prayed and we talked of how good Jesus is and we enjoyed each other’s company

We also sang some Psalms! In Ephesians 5 it says, Speak to each other with Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Psalms. We passed the bible out and looked in the book of Psalms, selected a psalm that we each liked and sang it to the tune that someone decided we should sing it to, for instance this:

May God be merciful and bless us

May his face shine with favour upon us.

May your ways be known throughout the earth,

your saving power among people everywhere. (Psalm 67)

to the theme tune of bob the builder…. it’s not blooming easy!

So, why do we go to church anyway?

The i61 Kids told me what they thought, here are their answers:
